Memorial Day 2010
Monday, May 31, 2010
Memorial Day (6.32 mi/13,817 steps) 690 cal. 186 lbs.
Another beautiful sunny day in New York City. I seasoned a few packs of boneless beef ribs for tonight. I used my new fanny pack and put my camera, and mp3 player on it. I walked down Park Avenue today to 59th Street, went over to Central Park (crowded!) and walked back up on the East Drive in the Park. I took a nice picture of Cleopatra's Needle along the way. I wore my old New Balance running shoes, and they are much more comfortable.
I got home and saw Auntie working in her garden. There was plenty of shade where she was, and a nice breeze was blowing. I spoke to her for a bit, then headed upstairs for a well-deserved shower. Showered and put on PJ's. I cooked the ribs, corn on the cob and rice for dinner. The ribs were really tender and tasted delicious with the BBQ sauce. I'm eating red meat only on rare occasions, and I haven't had any in quite some time.
I did my laundry also, because all this week, starting tomorrow, I have to be at the hospital at 0800 am for my first radiation treatment. I'll get my walk in after my treatment, that way if I'm tired when I get home, I can take a nap.
