Welcome

Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women. I know, because it happened to me--no family history, out of the blue (and into the pink). A year later, after a mastectomy, chemo and radiation, I am still here. I'm thriving, surviving and living out from under the shadow of cancer.

Thoughts on Purpose

3 miles walked

I woke listening to Pastor Roderick Caesar's sermon and he was talking about purpose. Not questioning the creator, accepting what life you have. I heard him say that for some of us, a career will be our challenge, health for others; an illness or disease, etc. etc. The reason we still draw breath is because we still have a purpose.

I have been reading other spiritual teachings on the internet about purpose. Some think that we make an agreement as spirit beings to come to earth in physical form (birth) to fulfill some work. In the birth process we forget and must rediscover it for ourselves as humans. Interesting idea. Some people seem to be aware from an early age what it is they are meant to do/be. Others of us struggle with it most of our lives.

I believe that you have to be strong in who you are, know who you are, so others aren't constantly trying to determine that for you. Such people are to be avoided whenever possible--controlling types too afraid to do the work they need to do on themselves. It's easier to try to fix everyone else around them.
