3rd Week Radiation Complete, Central Park Zoo, Mumtaz, and a Mani-Pedi

(6 mi./13,000 steps) 600 cal.
Hard to wake up today! Very sleepy, tired....ah well. Today I decided to go to The Central Park Zoo. Made a few video clips of the polar bear there, some really beautiful birds, a sleepy snow leopard and petting zoo animals. Lots of kids there, loads of tourists. I'll post the video later.
Walked over to 3rd Avenue and up to 84th Street--really dragging now. I had to stop and rest, so I had chicken curry at Mumtaz's on 84th and 3rd Avenue. The Chai Iced Tea w/ lemon is pretty good.
Caught the M15 bus the rest of the way uptown. I want to go to the Mermaid Parade at Coney Island tomorrow, so I stopped and got a manicure/pedicure. I was embarrassed about my “chemo toes”, so I went through this long song and dance about it with my technician—I didn't want her to be scared. Chemo is hell on your nails—you get bands of different colors on your hands and feet (sometimes the nails even warp). Naturally, the feet take longer to grow out. Anyway, she did a great job and I left with new, sexy feet.
I met a lovely woman as I was trying to hide my toes. She's a doctor who incorporates alternative therapy in her practice. It's wonderful to see physicians looking for healing methods outside of traditional Western medicine—lots of us have been waiting. She's one of the butterflies I talk about, the beautiful people (inside and out) you run into on any given day. New York City is full of them.
