Welcome

Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women. I know, because it happened to me--no family history, out of the blue (and into the pink). A year later, after a mastectomy, chemo and radiation, I am still here. I'm thriving, surviving and living out from under the shadow of cancer.

Chipotle's and Millionaire Thinking

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010
14th Street and (4.76 mi./10,058 steps) 502 cal.
Finally out of the house on time! The M101 bus came almost immediately, and I arrived at 125th Street by 0700 am. Problem was, the 4 train took a while to come, and it was crowded. I waited for another one (hoping it would come immediately and be less crowded---dream on). I was 5 mins late to the VA Hospital.

The team took x rays to check measurements, so my appointment took a bit longer than the usual 15 minutes. Each week I'll have x rays to check measurements and speak with the radiologist. I finished by 0840, and took the 4 train to 14th Street and walked around.

Around lunchtime, I was hungry, so I ate at Chipotle and had a burrito bowl with reduced portions. Everything was good; I missed eating there from living in Texas all those years. I'm a native New Yorker, but I lived in Texas for 17 years. Why? The Army.

Not ready to go home, I strolled up to 34th Street. At Madison Square Garden, I stopped in the nearby Borders Bookstore where I purchased two books: Think And Grow Rich and The Millionaire Mind. Took the 3 train uptown to 110th Street and sat at the Harlem Meer in the park for about an hour, reading The Millionaire Mind. Interesting reading. Think and Grow Rich was actually recommended by a youtube friend; the other book I decided to give a read as well.
