Welcome

Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women. I know, because it happened to me--no family history, out of the blue (and into the pink). A year later, after a mastectomy, chemo and radiation, I am still here. I'm thriving, surviving and living out from under the shadow of cancer.

Radiation Therapy -- Week Two

Monday, June 7th, 2010
(3.89 mi./8226 steps) 411 cal.

Woke up early, got up late.... late by 10 minutes to my radiation appointment. Still doing great. I haven't noticed any skin changes to my collarbone area, underarm or chest wall, and I'm not overly fatigued. Walked to COSTCO and picked up fruits and vegetables to juice/eat. Once home, I made a salad with very little chicken meat and had plain Greek yogurt and honey with fresh strawberries. I feel really good today. Drinking lots of water and staying hydrated.

I have an invitation to coffee with a girlfriend later this evening, which I think I'll accept. I'm off the bean (thank God)for the most part.
